*I was not paid for this review! I received this product heavily discounted for my honest opinion!

I'm a stay-at-home-mom and I absolutely love to cook. We rarely go out since I can usually cook better meals than any restaurant.  However, my kitchen is pretty small, and counter space can be a real challenge. I like to keep a variety of knives on hand, and I have two somewhat large knife blocks taking up valuable space on my counter. I've always wanted a magnetic knife strip, jut have never gotten around to actually acquiring one yet.

The Sabermate magnetic knife holder is made of a durable aluminum type metal in a nice sleek design that fits in with almost any decor. It measures 15" long and can be mounted practically anywhere. A handy mounting template is included so you can get it easily installed on the first try. Installation is a breeze, you just mount the screws, pull the two endcaps out, place on the screws and pop the endcaps back into place. Once it's on, it's very sturdy and definitely can't be shook loose. It's actually a little bit of an effort to get it back off! The magnets in the strip are pretty strong and can definitely withstand my six year old jumping around the kitchen like a lunatic. You have to give the knife a good little tug and a slight twist to get it off the strip.

The knife sharpener that comes with the strip is very handy to have also, and can be an invaluable tool when cooking in the kitchen. It's made of a plastic material and has two non-slip pads on the bottom of the main part to give it a firm grip on the counter. The knife sharpener has two different slots. There is a Coarse slot for getting those rough edges sharp, and it has a Fine slot to smooth away all the burrs and to polish the knife edge. To sharpen, you grasp the handle firmly while it's flat on the table. You pull the knife through the coarse slot a few times and then repeat through the fine slot until you have a nice honed edge. The sharpener works very well, it only took about 8 pulls through each slot before my knife was razor sharp.
Overall, I'm very happy with my knife strip and sharpener! They look great in my kitchen and help me free up a lot of counter space. I can also keep all  my knives top of the line sharp with minimal effort now!
