With everything going digital nowadays, CD's are becoming outdated. I have a massive CD collection that I've built up over the years just sitting on a shelf getting dusty now because I have all my music on my phone. Unfortunately, not every vehicle has a radio compatible with receiving music from a phone. I had to pay a good chunk of change to get a bluetooth deck in my main car, and I absolutely love it, but it still cost a lot. I can't afford to outfit all of our vehicles with a bluetooth deck, so I decided to try the next best thing- an FM transmitter.
The FM transmitter was super easy to install. It's all a one-piece system. You simply plug one end into your cigarette lighter and plug the other end into your phone's earphone jack. You then find a station that isn't broadcasting anything and match the transmitter and your radio to the same channel. The buttons on the transmitter help you to easily scan through and find any station in the spectrum. I tried it out in my husband's secondary car- a little 97 Camry that he likes to drive to work since it's a standard and he thinks it's fun to drive. The quality is very good as long as your phone is turned all the way up. I started out with my phone about halfway turned up, and there was a weird whining noise in the background. After a few minutes of playing around with it, I turned my phone all the way up and the weird noise disappeared. It has way better quality than this other transmitter we have. The other one we have is battery operated and only plugs into the phone. That one will easily skimp out on the signal even though it'll be a foot away from the antennae. I think this FM transmitter is much better since it makes direct contact from phone to car and won't lose the signal.

I've had a little bit of experience with digital IR thermometers. My husband recently got a thermometer that looks just like this but a different brand, and that thing was highly inaccurate! This thermometer, however, was spot on accurate and I'm very pleased with it!
The infrared temperature gun came with a really nice synthetic leather holster that includes a belt loop to keep it easily on hand for extended jobs. This would be invaluable to a home inspector! A battery was thoughtfully included with the set, so everything is ready to go out of the box. Installing the battery was easy, you just pulled open the handle, attached the battery to the contact points and closed it back up.
Once you turn on the thermometer, it is automatically on Celsius for some reason. You have to press and hold the mode button for a few seconds for it to switch over to Fahrenheit. There's memory settings where you can store up to 20 readings with a LOG function. The memory function also automatically recalls your last reading. The minimum reading is -58 F and the maximum is 1202 F , which is a very broad range to measure just about anything you can possibly think of. You can also adjust the temperature from .10 - 1.0 degrees to ensure accurate measurements. There is a handy backlight that you can toggle on or off independently of the laser. There is an automatic shutoff of 15 seconds on the laser to help conserve the battery. This thermometer is very accurate. I tested it out by trying my son's temperature. Within a few seconds, it gave me a completely accurate reading of 86.0 of his forehead. I tried to capture it in the photo, but by the time I got my camera centered, I moved the laser and the temp went down a fraction of a degree. Still, it was very accurate and gave me a lightning quick reading. I'm very impressed with the accuracy and the range of functions with this IR thermometer! With all the apps and whatnot running on our phones nowadays, it can be challenging to keep them charged. I can't tell you how many times my phone has died while I'm far away from a charger. A simple solution is to have car chargers, but they seem to frazzle out, or lose connection. My car charger would have to be at a certain angle with the wire at a certain angle, and it'd hopefully charge my phone. If I was lucky. I was offered to review this nifty charger by ShuoGe, and I must say I'm impressed!
The two port charger is nice and compact, it measures 2.5" long by 1" wide at the port area. The ports are labeled 2.4A and 1.0A . They both easily accommodate a standard USB plugin. The two port charger cmes in a nice black color that matched my interior very well and has is textured for a nice grip. The charger made great contact when I plugged it in and didn't shake loose, even over a bumpy road. I was somewhat surprised when I plugged it in and a nice blue light came on around the edges, making it very easy to find in the dark. The light is definitely bright enough to see, yet soft enough to not distract you while you're driving. I was very easily able to charge our phones using both ports and they actually seemed to charge slightly faster that my old charger. I am impressed with this charger, and absolutely love the look and feel of it.

My husband recently had his credit card stolen without it even leaving his wallet! It's amazing how advanced thieves are getting nowadays. Somehow, they can steal your entire identity just by walking past you. It's extremely frustrating to cancel all your cards and then having to use cash for everything for two weeks until your new cards come in. You never realize how much you use your cards until it's time to pay all your bills, get gas,, or simply go grocery shopping! But, with thieves getting more advanced, ways of fighting them are getting more advanced too. While there are RFID blocking sleeves, they can be troublesome to fumble with them trying to get your card out at the register and they can get quite bulky if you need quite a few of them. ID Locker has come up with a perfect way of fighting those annoyingly advanced thieves! They produce a whole RFID blocking wallet.
ID Locker's RFID blocking wallet come nicely gift wrapped, and perfect for gifting to any man in your life. Inside their nice sturdy box, the wallet also comes in a nice cloth pouch that is very nicely crafted. The wallet itself is made of scratch resistant leather in a nicely polished black color. The wallet is very nicely made, with fine stitching along the edges and is pleasant to the touch. The leather seems very durable and can withstand quite a bit of battering. The RFID blocking material is built into the inside of the wallet, you don't even see it, it looks just like a normal wallet.
The wallet is very easily accessible with a flip top ID pocket and eight credit card slots that perfectly accommodate your cards. It also has a nice big cash compartment as well, just like a regular wallet. The wallet is very easy to use, and very convenient to get to your cards whenever you need quick access. It's nice and slim, not bulky and bulging like some other wallets, perfect for slipping in your back pocket without feeling like you're sitting on a phonebook! This wallet really works!! Usually, when my husband gets to work, he just passes his whole wallet underneath the time clock and it scans his time card. Well, yesterday morning, it couldn't scan it, and he had to go take his card out of the wallet before it would scan. It's a little inconvenient, but at least we know it really works! He'd rather do that than have to go through canceling cards and getting new ones which is a nightmare! My husband feels so much more secure going places with this wallet now! Selfie sticks are all the rage right now! Everywhere you look on social media, people are using them everyday. There's even silly cases of people posing with fake selfie sticks, using broom handles and pipes and other random objects. I'm not huge on taking photos of myself, but I was thrilled when I was offered to review this bluetooth selfie stick by Reach. I'm starting to do a lot of reviews lately, and this is definitely going to make my photo shoots a lot easier from now on!
The selfie stick is very small and compact and can easily fit in a purse, fanny pack or even your pocket if you wear cargo pants or have deep pockets without taking up too much room. The stick came with a USB charging cable and a very simple, easy to follow instruction manual.
To charge, you simply plug the USB cord into the base of your selfie stick and then plug the USB end into your computer or any other USB charging station. While charging, a red light comes on. I was also able to plug it into my phone charger and it fit perfect as well, which is awesome for when you're not near a computer but still have your phone charger! The selfie stick charged very quickly, it seemed fully charged in less than 15 minutes. It claims to hold a charge or up to three days!
The grip is rubberized and spring loaded and stretched to accommodate pretty much any phone size. It's actually a little strong and takes a little bit of practice to get your phone in there. Once your phones in though, it's very secure and in no danger of falling out while you're moving around. The grip also swivels to any direction you may need it and locks in that position with a screw type locking mechanism. You can pretty much get any angle you desire with this selfie stick!
Connecting my phone to it was a breeze! I simply pressed the button to turn the stick on. It blinked while it was searching for my phone. On my phone, I did a device search in my bluetooth menu, and it found it within just a few seconds and had n problems connecting. I put my phone in the clamp and simply pressed the camera button on the stick to start taking pictures! It was so easy!! The stick itself is telescopic and can stretch to any length up to 42 inches and anywhere in between. The grip is slightly rubberized and easily stays in your grasp without getting sweaty and slipping. This stick is very sturdy and easy to take steady pictures without shaking or blurring.
I am very impressed with how versatile this stick is, you can get pretty much any angle or distance you may desire while still staying nice and compact. It's so easy to use that I got how to use it within seconds even though I've never even seen a selfie stick in person before! If you'd like to keep up with the times and want the easiest selfie stick ever, you can get one here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z8HN14C #CraigromCommerceSelfieStick

Me and my husband absolutely love multitools! I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to review this awesome little 5-in-1 tire gauge and emergency tool by Mclintech. The multitool has a digital tire gauge, seat belt cutter, safety hammer, flashlight and red safety light. This is an absolutely perfect tool to have in your car for any emergency!
The tire gauge was very easy to use since it's all digital with a nice, clear display. You press the on button and then you can choose between either PSI, BAR , KPA or KG/CM - whichever setting you may desire to read. We decided to test the PSI of out boat trailer tire that was looking a little flat. The gauge gave us a reading lightning quick ,barely even took 2 seconds! We tested the accuracy by comparing ti to our old fashioned tire gauge, and it was spot on perfect! The ease of using this is awesome!
The multitool fits into the hand very nicely and has a nice, comfortable grip to it. On one end is a seat belt cutter. I didn't exactly have a spare seat belt to test it on, but it seemed sharp and I believe that it'd do the job. On the other side of that end, it has an emergency hammer that easily pops up by pressing a lever right below it. It locks into place and is solid steel with a pointy tip. I fully believe that it will break any window in an emergency.
The multitool also has a built in super bright torch and a red emergency LED light. The torch light is super bright and can help you easily find whatever you're looking for in the darkest environments! The LED emergency light is red and super bright as well. It's absolutely perfect to signal passing vehicles or as an emergency beacon if you need help. The light and the display for the tire gauge both run off of a AAA battery that you can easily install without a screwdriver.
Overall, I was very impressed with this handy little gadget and will be keeping it in one of our vehicles in case of future emergencies. It's nice and compact and can easliy be stashed just about anywhere handy in a vehicle without taking up too much room. Who knows, it might save our lives one day! At least I definitely feel safer just knowing that it's within easy reach at all times. I seem to be going through a thermometer craze lately. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant with my second lil one and I'm trying to prepare, I'm not sure. Anyways, I was given the chance to review a thermometer by FamFave recently. First off, I must say that this truly is the fastest, most accurate thermometer that I've ever used!
I loved the neat green color of this thermometer, along with the soft rubber tip. The picture doesn't show it too well, but the display is lit by a green backlight that you could easily see in a dark room. This thermometer surprised me by how fast it was! Within 10 seconds, it gave me a completely accurate reading, with a loud beep signaling that it was done. considering how quick it is, this would be the perfect thermometer for a fussy baby or fidgety kid. My six year old son hates taking his temperature, but he had no problem trying this one out! I am VERY impressed with this thermometer, and it's definitely going to be the first one that I grab when the kids are sick!

Last week, my husband was the victim of credit card theft! We found out when his card was denied at the gas station at the worst possible moment. Once he looked at his account on his phone, it showed a few purchases in Austin, a city 45 minutes away from us. Well, we haven't been there in about 3 months! His card was shut down, and we had to apply for a new one. It was a huge hassle! So, somehow his card information was stolen right out of his wallet without it ever leaving his possession! How the heck does that even happen?!?! We have suspicions about when we purchased some lumber, the checkout girl had a friend sitting there on her phone. We believe that's when the theft happened since that was the last purchase my husband made before charges started showing up in Austin. So, somehow this girl stole his card info from 5 feet away! When I was given the opportunity to try these nifty RFID card protectors out, I just about tripped over myself to go order them! Once the new card comes in, we're definitely keeping it in one of these! You really don't know how much you use your card in everyday life until you don't have it! It's a true pain!
Honestly, when I first opened the shipping box, I thought it was empty! They used a huge box and then taped this tiny credit card sized pack to a big piece of cardboard. They really could've saved some money just putting it in a regular sized envelope or something.
Once I unwrapped them, all I thought they were all too cute! As you can see, they're in a wide variety of designs that will fit anybody's style. There's a few that are a little feminine, but my husband will be happy to have any except the pink and the tiger striped one (which are my favorites!).
The outside seems to be a light cardboard type material, while the inside seems coated with some kind of aluminum type material.
I loaded all my cards in my wallet up in them, and they all fit very nicely! It looks pretty cute too! Overall I'm pretty impressed with how slim and nice looking they are. As if to they work or not, well time can only tell! But they sure look cute, and I feel a little more secure knowing that somethings guarding my cards now! I still don't get how someone can steal my card information without ever seeing the card, but I know firsthand that it's entirely possible!! Hopefully these nifty little cardholders can guard them now!
If you'd like to protect yourself too, you can get them here: http://amzn.to/1PiIOSi #sefcard I received this free wood grain power bank from Black & Mild and decided to give it a try! I'm always on the go, and a common problem I have is not being able to have my phone charged all the way. Thus, it was a pretty exciting little surprise when this little number arrived in the mail! It comes in a compact box that measures 5 1/2" x 3" x 1" , which would be perfect to slip into a stocking this year! The charger seems to be an unmarked brand, however I've tried Black&Mild products before and they're usually of great quality. The power bank is made with a lithium ion battery, with a cycle life of more than 500 charges. It is compatible with smart phones, MP3/MP4 , tablet PC's , digital cameras, Games, GPS and many more. So basically it claims to charge just about anything modern. The power bank comes with a USB/charger cable and a tiny instruction manual. Nothing too complex, you see? The charger itself is pretty small and compact, measuring only 4" x 1". On the end is a USB port and a micro connector port. To charge, you just connect the micro connector end into the charger and plug the other end into a computer USB port. The light will blink red while charging, and stay red when fully charged. It took me about two hours to get it all the way fully charged this first time.
After charging, I just switched the white cable around, plugging it into the USB port on the charger. I plugged the other end into my phone, and voila! It actually started charging my Moto G phone! I definitely give this charger a huge thumbs up!! Thank you Black & Mild!! |
