My hair is naturally curly and like a lion's mane when left in it's natural state. I can't stand it and it gets hot and tangles very easily. Thus, I always straighten my hair after showering. I've been doing this for years and I can't even count the times I've accidentally burned my hand or fingers. My best straightener is a Chi that reaches up to 400 degrees and my hair is always too hot to handle for a minute after running it through. I found this nifty little heat resistant glove by ISA Professionals, and I just couldn't wait to try it out!
The heat resistant glove comes in a nice slim box that is perfect to easily wrap if you'd like to gift it to somebody. The glove itself is made of a nice lightweight weaved material that easily stretches to fit any hand size, male or female. The material is nice and breathable so your hand doesn't get all sweaty like some others. The fit is nice and snug and it stays in place, doesn't try to fall off or slip around on you. Overall, it's actually pretty comfortable to wear!
I decided to test how heat resistant it was by grabbing my Chi flat iron after letting it heat for a few minutes. My straightener was about as hot as I could get it, which should be around 400 degrees. I was able to easily grab it and hold on. It took about 10 seconds before it started to get warm, and about 20 seconds before it got a little uncomfortable. In real life, nobody in their right mind should be grabbing a flat iron for 20 seconds, so I would say that it's definitely heat resistant! The glove can definitely shield you from any grazes whatsoever that may happen to even the clumsiest person.
While I straighten my hair, I usually like to grab my hair to make sure it stays straight as it cools instead of curling on my shoulders. I usually have to gingerly grasp it within a few seconds and move my hand quickly before my hair burns it. With this glove, I didn't even feel any heat when I grabbed my hair. It was little hard to feel my hair through the glove, but to not get burned was totally worth it. I am very impressed with this heat resistant glove, and I'll be using it every time I straighten my hair from now on!
