I just recently "discovered" baby bandana bibs. I think they are just so adorable, and they're also like a fashion statement while still being completely functional! I was given the opportunity to review this Feather and Sky bandana bib set by Luly Baby. Since I'm currently expecting my second lil boy in a few months, I jumped at the chance to review these.
The Feathers and Sky set I received was just too adorable! It had one with red feathers on a white background, a blue one with white clouds, a white one with a blue triangle pattern and a white with grey chevron designs on it.
The first thing I noticed (besides the adorable designs), was how they underside is nicely padded and very soft. These bibs would be perfect to put on a shirtless baby without any chafing whatsoever! The snaps are metal with two different positions on each side for the perfect fit. The bibs are nice and precut, so you don't have to worry about folding them to the perfect bandana shape. They seem very durable, the edges are well stitched and these seem like high quality bibs! And have I mentioned that they are just too adorable?

I was given the great opportunity to review these attractive Premium round waxed shoelaces by Shoeslulu. Since my work shoes are black, I decided the Azure Blue ones would go very nicely with them.
These seem to be very nice shoelaces, I loved the texture and color of them. They're very tough and they seem like they'll stand up to water very well. I think they look a lot better than my old black laces, they really pop out! I really like these shoelaces, but they are a little bit too short. Barely. Otherwise, I am completely happy with these premium waxed shoelaces!
If you'd like to get a pair for yourself, they're available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZG2SVC6 #Shoeslulu This is a great recipe to make when you don't have a lot of time, and it's so yummy!

In large saucepan, heat the oil. Saute the pepper, onion, garlic and seasonings in oil until vegetables are tender. Add the shrimp. Cook and stir for 2-3 more minutes or until heated through. Toss the pasta in with the shrimp mixture. Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and enjoy! Do you love Almond Joys? Well you're going to want to make large batches of these little bites of heaven!
Makes 2-1/2 dozen 1-3/4 cups confectioners sugar 1-3/4 cup flaked coconut 1 cup chopped almonds 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk 2 cups (12oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 Tbsp shortening In a large bowl, combine the sugar, coconut, almonds and milk. Shape into 1" balls. Layer on a cookie sheet and refrigerate until firm, about 20 minutes. Melt the chocolate chips and shortening in the microwave. Stir until smooth. Dip the balls into the chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off. Place on waxed paper and let stand until set. Store in an airtight container. A rich ribbon of streusel fills the centers and decorates the tops of the delectable muffins!
Streusel: 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour 3 Tbsp brown sugar 1/4 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp butter or margarine 3 Tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans In small bowl combine the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in nuts and set aside. Muffins: 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1-1/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground ginger(optional) 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 cup butter or margarine 1 beaten egg 1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk+1/2 Tbsp vinegar, stir and let sit for 5 min) Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a muffin tin or line with cupcake liners. In medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda and salt. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In another bowl, combine the egg and buttermilk. Add egg mixture to flour mixture and stir until just moistened. Spoon half the batter into the prepared muffin tins, filling each 1/3 full. Top with half the streusel topping. Top with the rest of the batter and then the rest of the streusel. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes clean. Cool in the muffin tin for 5 min, then remove. Best when served still warm!

I was given the opportunity to review these premium desert flat boot shoelaces from Shoeslulu recently. As my husband has a distressing habit of destroying shoelaces on his work boots, I leaped at the chance to try a different style than we usually have.
For some reason, the shoelaces that came with my husband's boots tend to separate into different layers by having the outer layer slowly unravel. Though these shoelaces from Shoeslulu were quite a bit shorter than the standard shoelaces, they were still able to fully lace up his boots. These shoelaces are nice and solid, and I don't see any danger of them unraveling at all. I decided to choose the color Bitter Chocolate, since I thought they'd be a nice contrast with the tan boots. As you can see, they actually look pretty nice! They're of a nice soft material, 100% cotton canvas that actually feels pretty nice!
My husband and I were pretty pleased with them, and I'll be buying me some for my shoes since they come in a variety of different colors that can match just about anything! If you'd like to get some for yourself, they're available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01695QDSM #Shoeslulu

When my six year old son was younger, he definitely went through his fair share of bibs. He didn't really stop wearing bibs until he was three years old. So you can say that we definitely know a bit or two about bibs! As I'm currently expecting my second lil boy now, I know that we'll be going through a lot of bibs again. As much experience as we've had with bibs though, I've never even heard of adorable Bandana Bibs!
First of all, I must say that these are so ADORABLE! I absolutely love the patterns and how they look! I got a four pack from Little Cheeky. The designs were polka dots, stars, teddy heads and various animals. I love how all the colors will easily suite either a boy or a girl. They were packaged very neatly, each individually wrapped. They're made of 100% cotton and are very soft and flexible, not stiff like some bibs. Since they're cotton, I know that they're also super absorbent!
I love how they were already pre-folded and ready to just pop on! The snaps are made of plastic, not metal, which I actually think is great since they're softer. They're firmly attached and I see no danger with them being chewed on. The snaps are in two different positions so you can easily adjust them to whichever size you might need. I tried these bibs on my six year old son, and they actually fit very nicely without strangling him! The edges are tightly stitched and they seem like they'll last quite a long time!
I am very impressed with the quality of these bibs, and I love the cute unisex designs. And did I mention how darn cute they look? I can't wait for my newborn to sport these fashionable bibs in public! They almost seem more like a fashion statement than a bib, yet they're fully functional! If you'd like to show some off on your lil one, they're available here: http://tinyurl.com/LC-BanBibs #LCBandanas Sinfully delicious!!

I absolutely love scented candles! I hopped for joy at the chance to review this Peter Cottontail scented soy candle. This all natural 100% soy candle is made by the Sugar Creek Candle Company, and they have a ton of awesome scents!
This 12 oz candle lasts 75 hours and comes in a nice thick, sturdy glass jar that can withstand being accidentally knocked over. It has a nice seal on the lid to keep the scent nicely contained when not in use. I love that it's all natural and made from 100% soy, which is vegetable based!
It smelled delicious when I opened it, and I had to just immediately try it out! The smell is very nice and fresh, it somewhat reminds me of fresh laundry mixed with spring, if that makes any sense. The candle lit very easily, and there was absolutely no smoke while burning. Within 5 minutes, my whole house had a light, fresh smell that I thoroughly enjoyed. Even after an hour of burning, I could still pick it up and easily move it without the glass being too hot, it was just barely warm. This candle is definitely very high quality, not one of those cheap knock-offs you get sometimes. I am going to completely enjoy it for the full 75 hours of burn time!

Grease and flour the bottoms of two 9" layer pans. Melt 1/3 cup of the chocolate morsels in microwave. In small bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Stir in the nuts and the 2/3 cup unmelted chocolate morsels. Set aside. In another separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In another larger bowl, cream the butter and 1-1/2 cups sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time and beat well. Blend in the melted chocolate and vanilla. At low speed, add the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour evenly into both pans. Sprinkle the graham cracker mixture on top. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting. Frosting: Beat the heavy whipping cream with the 2 Tbsp sugar until stiff. Frost the middle, then layer and frost top and sides of cake, keeping layers top-side up. Refrigerate, and serve cold. |
